DIY – Homemade Make-up Remover Wipes

So my girls were out of make-up remover wipes and ask “mom next time we’re at Target can you buy us some face wipes?”. I say “why buy’em when you can make em!”  You should know that while my girls have mastered the art of the rolling of the eyes this does not faze me nor will I back down and relent to their request to spend money unnecessarily when I have all the ingredients on hand to make these wipes.  Yes! this mom is on a mission to cut back on expenses and to use the resources I have on hand and prove that you don’t need to run to the store and spend money when you can DIY!

So the recipe I used is found here.  As in an earlier blog post on DIY Disinfecting Wipes, I again tweaked the measurements just a bit.  I omitted the use of essential oils because I only had Tea Tree Oil and my kids don’t like the smell of it.  Also I added a bit more water (3/4 cup) instead of the recommended 1/2 cup because I opted to use the same paper towels  which needed a bit more water than if I were to use the small round cotton pads. I made a few other small adjustments well. You can compare the recipe below to the the recipe in the link above.

3/4 Cup hot water

1 Tbs Coconut oil (you may use a little less than a tablespoon of coconut oil and add a few drops of vitamin E and Argan oil)

1 Tbs Witch Hazel (I like Thayers-Alcohol free-Rose Petal with Aloe Vera)

1 Tbs Castile Soap (I used just a tad bit less.  Also you can use Lavender or Almond castile soap too. I only had peppermint on hand)

40 Towelettes (or round cotton pads) *I used the other half of the paper towels that were cut in my DIY Disinfecting Wipes project found here.  Also you want to make sure the towels you use are non-bleached.

Okay, lets get started
