Remembering your walk with the Lord…

This past Sunday the service at church was quite nice. With our pastor away on a trip to Israel we had the pleasure of hearing a guest speaker talk about the prison ministry he founded. Chaplain Mark Maciel talked about having spent time in prison himself and how he now dedicates his life by going into the jails and prisons and sharing the gospel and ministering to the inmates. What an awesome testimony and amazing work he is doing. I am always amazed at how God works in our lives and how He uses us for His glory. He can take a dried up, wilted flower and completely renew it and make it whole and pretty again. Doesn’t matter who you are, where you’ve been or what you’ve done with your life, the Lord’s love for us is unconditional and pure. As I sit here I can’t help but feel so grateful to God for seeing me through the toughest times at various stages in my life. He saw me through a frightening time in my life when I had breast cancer many years ago, and through several health scares with my elderly parents, and through the difficulties I had in my marriage. Through much prayer and reading the bible I’ve realized that sometimes the Lord may choose to allow certain events to take place in our lives that will get our attention and bring us to our knees and closer to Him. I know I’ve got down on my knees many times, crying, begging and pleading and each and every time He has answered me faithfully. Even when a prayer wasn’t answered, I took it as an answer from God because at the end of the day He sees the bigger picture in our lives and like any good attentive parent, knows what is in our best interest.  I admit sometimes I may silently whine about it and maybe even rebel a little but I will always walk hand in hand with my Father because in Him alone I trust. Before I close I want to leave you with my favorite bible verse, Proverbs 3:5 – Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.  The Lord revealed this verse to me many years ago during prayer. A story I will share in a future post.

Have a wonderful night everyone.  Good night and God Bless! 🙂
